April 21, 2018 - Friday night found Jon Mitchell in action at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned weekend. With 39 cars on hand for the two-day Queen City Shootout, Mitchell recorded a 9th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. Needing to place in the Top-3 to make the opening night feature, Jon logged a 9th place outing.

Returning on Saturday evening for another $10,000-to-win A-Main, Jon placed 7th in his heat giving him one final shot at the finale with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top-3 into the show, Mitchell recorded a 10th place outing ending his weekend early.

March 31, 2018 - Jon Mitchell returned with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) on Friday night at Timberline Speedway (Maud, Texas) for the $2,000-to-win A-Main. Falling short of a Top-10 finish, Mitchell posted a 14th place outing in the 40-lap affair.

On Saturday night at Lonestar Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) for the Bunny Hop Spring Nationals, Mitchell started the night off with heat race victory positioning him on the pole for the main event. March 23, 2018 - Making his first start of the season in the Super Late Model ranks, Jon Mitchell headed to Old No. 1 Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas) on Friday evening for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) opener. Drawing 27 cars for the $2,000 top prize, Mitchell broke a rear end in his heat race forcing him to pull out his secondary car for the feature. Starting in 20th, Jon had worked his way into the Top-10 and was battling for a Top-5 spot until his right-rear slipped over the cushion on lap 23 sending him on his roof. He was able to walk away from the scary incident unharmed.

March 2, 2018 - On Friday night Jon Mitchell followed the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) to Kennedale Speedway Park (Kennedale, Texas) for the third round of the Summit USTMS Winter Speedweeks presented by MSD Performance. Holding his spot in his 8-lap heat, Mitchell logged a 5th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top-5 into the opening night feature, Jon landed a runner-up finish behind Chase Allen locking him into the 16th-starting position for the A-Main. Breaking into the Top-10, Jon Mitchell gained eight spots in the 35-lap affair reeling in an 8th place finish.

Mother Nature rained out Saturday and Sunday’s USMTS events at Superbowl Speedway (Greenville, Texas) and Grayson County Speedway (Bells, Texas).

February 24, 2018 - Jon Mitchell kicked off the 2018 season at South Texas Speedway (Corpus Christi, Texas) on Friday night for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) season opener. With 26 cars signed in for the 9th annual Summit USMTS Winter Speedweeks presented by MSD Performance, Mitchell secured his spot into the opening night feature with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Johnny Scott. Earning the 2nd-starting position for the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Jon held his spot for all 40-laps to place 2nd behind Johnny Scott with Cade Dillard, Joe Duvall, and Dereck Ramirez completing the Top-5 finishers. December 13th, 2017 - The 2017 season saw Jon Mitchell compete in a total of 43 events in the Super Late Model and Open Wheel Modified ranks. Losing 11 of his scheduled dates to Mother Nature, Mitchell collected three wins, 22 Top-10 outings, and 14 Top-5 finishes. He also finished tenth in the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) point standings.

November 25th, 2017 - Wrapping up the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS), Jon Mitchell traveled to Lonestar Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) on Saturday night for the Topless Turkey Nationals. In a field of 32 Super Late Models, Jon timed in second fastest in his group before charging to an 8-lap heat race victory. Rolling off 4th for the $5,000-to-win Wayne Harris Memorial, Jon held his spot for all 40-laps notching a 4th place finish behind Timothy Culp, Zach McMillan, and Tyler Erb with B.J. November 4th, 2017 - On Friday night Jon Mitchell made the trek to Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) competing in a field of 27 Super Late Models for the All American 60. Reeling in a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Billy Moyer Jr., Mitchell earned the 6th-starting position for the $7,500-to-win A-Main on Saturday night. After contact with another competitor got Jon sideways, he was slammed from behind by another car while coming to a halt on the track ending his night immediately. He was able to walk away from the scary incident unharmed.

October 28th, 2017 - Powering the Murphy & Son Timber #5 Open Wheel Modified, Jon Mitchell visited Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, Louisiana) on Saturday night for the 45th annual Louisiana State Championships. Reeling in a Top 5 finish in the feature, Mitchell posted a 4th place finish behind Chris Henigan, David Winslett, and Jason Ingalls with Dustin Hyde coming in 5th.

October 21st, 2017 - Friday night brought Jon Mitchell to Chatham Speedway (Chatham, Louisiana) for the two-day Spooky 50. Rolling off 6th in his heat race, Jon had worked his way up to 4th until him and another car made hard contact. Unable to make it out for his B-Main, Mitchell headed home late Friday evening.

January 12th, 2017 - Competing in 39 events during the 2016 season, Jon Mitchell reeled in three wins aboard his Healthcare Express #5 Super Late Model. With the weather determining the outcome of ten of scheduled dates, Mitchell posted 26 Top 10 finishes and 16 Top 5 outings. He also finished second in the Southern United Professional Racing (SUPR) series point standings.
