July 16th, 2016 - Competing in the P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racing (SUPR) series double-header, Jon Mitchell visited Golden Triangle Raceway Park (Beaumont, Texas) on Friday night. Placing 2nd in his heat behind Rob Litton, Jon was slated to start 3rd for the $1,500-to-win A-Main. Holding his position for entire distance of the feature, Mitchell notched a 3rd place finish behind B.J. Robinson and Rob Litton with Robbie Stuart and Allen Tippen completing the top five.

On Saturday night eighteen Super Late Models signed in at Battleground Race Park (Highlands, Texas) for the $2,000-to-win A-Main. Falling back to a 6th place outing in his heat, Mitchell was set to start 12th for the main event. Breaking into the top five, Jon streaked through the field seven spots landing a 5th place finish behind Robbie Stuart, B.J. Robinson, Allen Tippen, and Rob Litton.

July 9th, 2016 - Following the P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racing (SUPR) to Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, Louisiana) on Saturday night, Jon Mitchell was one of eighteen Super Late Models signed in for the $2,000-to-win A-Main. Registering a 6th place finish in his heat, Mitchell earned an 11th place starting spot for the main event. July 2nd, 2016 - Returning with the P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racing (SUPR) series, Jon Mitchell headed to Timberline Speedway (Corley, Texas) on Friday night for the Stars and Stripes Shootout. Capturing a heat race win in a field of sixteen cars, Mitchell earned a 2nd place starting spot for the feature behind Allen Tippen. Leading the entire distance, Jon stormed to his second win of the season with Tippen, B.J. Robinson, Rob Litton, and Robbie Stuart trailing him across the finish line. Jon was awarded a $2,000 payday for his victory in the A-Main.

On Saturday night Mitchell visited Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) for the Firecracker 40 feature. Drawing twenty entries, Mitchell earned the pole position starting spot for the $2,500-to-win A-Main. Losing one spot in the main event, Jon posted a runner-up finish behind B.J. Robinson with Rob Litton, Curt Lipsey, and Ronny Adams rounding out the top five.
