1November 30th, 2013 - Jon Mitchell entered his final event of the 2013 season on Saturday evening as he participated in the annual Lone Star Turkey Nationals at Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas).

A strong field of 31 entries took part in the $5,000-to-win at the 3/8 mile oval, which was sanctioned by the P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racing (SUPR) Super Late Models. Pill draw positioned Mitchell starting 5th in his heat but hard contact with the wall forced him to a b-main, where he mounted a charge from the 5th starting spot to a 2nd place finish. His performance in the consolation event positioned Mitchell starting 20th in the 50 lap finale. During the course of the feature he mounted a great charge through the pack to register a 7th place finish at the checkered flag.
