July 18, 2020 - Chatham triumph gives Jon Mitchell first win of the season
1On Saturday afternoon Jon Mitchell invaded Chatham Speedway (Chatham, La.) piloting his Healthcare Express No. 5 Late Model for the Firecracker. Starting the night off with a heat race victory, Mitchell locked into the pole position for the main event. Leading flag-to-flag, Jon cruised to his first win of the season over Bubba Mullins and Brandon Hightower to capture the $5,000 payday.

July 11, 2020 - Podium finish in Will McGary Memorial at I-30 Speedway
1Saturday night found Jon Mitchell in action at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Ark.) for the Will McGary Memorial. Drawing 21 Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) entries for the event honoring an Arkansas police officer who died in the line of duty, Mitchell topped the speed charts in time trials before cruising to an 8-lap heat race victory. Starting on the pole for the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Jon took part in a heated battle for the lead in the first 10 laps with Spencer Hughes. After getting passed for second on lap 28, Mitchell settled with a third place finish behind Hughes and Logan Martin with Brian Rickman and Timothy Culp rounding out the Top-5. July 4, 2020 - Mitchell bags a trio of Top 5 finishes with CCSDS over Fourth of July weekend
1Jon Mitchell was one of 31 Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) on hand at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Ark.) on Wednesday evening for the Hammer Hill Twin Bill. Posting the fastest lap overall in his group, Mitchell went on to pick up an 8-lap heat race victory, which positioned him second on the starting grid for the opening night feature. With $4,000 on the line, Jon suffered a broken rear-end while battling for the lead that sidelined him for the remainder of the evening.

1On Thursday afternoon at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, La.) for The Pelican, Jon secured his spot into the $4,000-to-win A-Main with a second place finish in his heat behind Kyle Beard. Passing one car in the 40-lap affair, Mitchell notched a fourth place finish behind Spencer Hughes, Terry Phillips, and Logan Martin with Morgan Bagley coming in fifth. The following night at Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas), Jon timed in fourth fastest overall before picking up an 8-lap heat race victory. Rolling off second for the main event, Mitchell fell three spots to register a fifth place finish behind Billy Moyer, Drew Armstrong, B.J. Robinson, and David Breazeale.

Wrapping up the Four-for-Four Firecracker Nationals on Saturday, Jon headed to Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, La.) for the $4,000 prize. Following a second place finish in his heat behind Billy Moyer, Mitchell gained one spot in the 40-lap feature to come home third behind Terry Phillips and Billy Moyer with Spencer Hughes and Hunter Rasdon rounding out the Top-5.
