September 19, 2020 - Runner-up finish in Hooked Up 30 at Revolution Park
1Taking part in the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) doubleheader weekend, Jon Mitchell traveled to Revolution Park (Monroe, La.) on Friday night for the Hooked Up 30. After topping the 33-car field in time trials, Mitchell cruised to a heat race victory, which positioned him on the pole for the opening night feature. With $3,000 on the line, Jon faded one spot in the 30-lap affair to register a runner-up finish behind Cade Dillard with Spencer Hughes, B.J. Robinson, and Brian Rickman rounding out the Top-5. 1The following night for the $7,000-to-win finale, Mitchell edged his way into the show with the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat race. With a dozen cars failing to complete all 50 laps of the feature, Jon was spun around by another competitor that ended up breaking his front-end.

September 11, 2020 - Early exit from Cajun Clash at Ark-La-Tex Speedway
1Friday night found Jon Mitchell in action in the Modified ranks at Ark-LA-Tex Speedway (Vivian, La.) for the eighth annual Cajun Clash. Drawing 42 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) entries, Mitchell posted a fourth place finish in his heat race, transferring him into the B-Main for another shot at the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Streaking to a 12-lap consolation victory, Jon earned the 13th-starting position for the show. Running into trouble in the final 10 laps, Mitchell was an early retiree from the 40-lapper on lap 34.

September 6, 2020 - Mitchell competes with Comp Cams over Labor Day weekend
1After losing the first two events of the Labor Day weekend to Mother Nature, Jon Mitchell returned with the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) on Saturday evening at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Miss.) for the Labor Day Classic. In a field of 28 cars, Mitchell edged his way into the opening night feature with the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat race. Rolling off 16th, Jon was an early retiree from the 40-lap affair on lap 17.

The following night at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) for another $3,000-to-win A-Main, Jon came one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fifth place finish, sending him into the B-Main. Scoring a runner-up finish behind Rick Rickman, Mitchell locked into the 18th-starting position for the feature. Running into more bad luck, Jon withdrew from the 40-lapper on lap 31.
