July 14, 2018 - Top 5 Finish in Modified Special at Lonestar Speedway
1On Saturday evening Jon Mitchell returned to Lonestar Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) for the $2,000-to-win Open Wheel Modified special. Scoring a Top-5 finish in the feature, Jon landed a 5th place spot behind Chris Hennigan, Dennie Gerber, Zach McMillan, and Jason Ingalls.

June 30, 2018 - Mitchell Kicks Off CCSDS Weekend in the Sooner State
1Returning with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS), Jon Mitchell invaded Tri-State Speedway (Pocola, Oklahoma) on Friday night kicking off the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) tripleheader. In a field of 19 cars, Mitchell locked his spot into the opening night feature with a 6th place finish in his heat. Running into mechanical issues, Jon was an early retiree from the 40-lap affair while being credited with a 19th place outing.

1The following night at Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Oklahoma) for the event co-sanctioned with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA), Jon edged his way into the A-Main with a 4th place finish in his heat. On Saturday night for the second round of the ARMI Freedom Classic, Mitchell notched a 4th place finish in his heat positioning him 15th on the starting grid for the finale. With $5,000 on the line, Jon Mitchell slipped back to a 18th place outing.

June 9, 2018 - Jon Mitchell Registers Podium Finish in Lonestar Modified Special
1Saturday night found Jon Mitchell in action at Lonestar Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) for the $5,000-to-win Outlaw Modified Championship. With 24 cars registered in for action, Mitchell passed three cars in his heat race reeling in a 2nd place finish. Earning the 3rd-starting position for the main event, Mitchell held his spot for the entire distance to place 3rd behind Bobby Malchus and Chris Henigan with Dustin Hyde and Chase Hatton completing the Top-5 finishers.

June 2, 2018 - Mitchell Attends CCSDS Doubleheader in Arkansas
1Jon Mitchell traveled to Crowley’s Ridge Raceway (Paragould, Arkansas) on Friday night kicking off the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series doubleheader in the state of Arkansas. May 27, 2018 - Top 5 Finish in Modified at Boothill Speedway; 2nd Place Finish at Lonestar
1Powering the HealthCare Express #5 Open Wheel Modified, Jon Mitchell visited Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, Louisiana) on Saturday evening for the Memorial Day Shootout. Coming in the Top-5 in the feature, Mitchell bagged a 5th place finish behind David Winslet, Brett Frazier, Jerry Jackson, and Tyler Townsend.

The following night at Lonestar Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) in a field of 17 cars, Mitchell landed a 2nd place finish in the feature trailing Zack McMillan across the finish line with Dustin Hyde, Tye Clampitt, and Kyle Pleasant completing the Top-5 finishers.

May 19, 2018 - Jon Mitchell Finishes Second at Timberline Speedway
1Saturday evening brought Jon Mitchell to Timberline Speedway (Maud, Texas), where he was competing in the Open Wheel Modified division.

Reeling in a podium performance in the 20-lap feature, Mitchell race to a runner-up finish at the clay oval.

May 5, 2018 - Jon Mitchell Records Top-10 in Pelican 50
1After Mother Nature wiped out the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned event at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) on Friday, Jon Mitchell headed to Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana) on Saturday evening for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) sanctioned Pelican 50.

After recording the fastest time overall in a field of 20 cars, Mitchell streaked to a heat race victory positioning him on the pole for the $4,000-to-win A-Main. Coming one spot shy of a Top-5 finish, Jon dropped five spots in the 40-lapper to place 6th.

April 28, 2018 - Jon Mitchell Records Top-10 in Pelican 50
1Behind the wheel of the W&W Timber #5 Open Wheel Modified, Jon Mitchell visitied Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, Louisiana) on Saturday evening for the regular night of racing.

April 21, 2018 - Jon Mitchell Competes with WoO Craftsman Late Models
1Friday night found Jon Mitchell in action at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned weekend. With 39 cars on hand for the two-day Queen City Shootout, Mitchell recorded a 9th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. Needing to place in the Top-3 to make the opening night feature, Jon logged a 9th place outing.

Returning on Saturday evening for another $10,000-to-win A-Main, Jon placed 7th in his heat giving him one final shot at the finale with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top-3 into the show, Mitchell recorded a 10th place outing ending his weekend early.

March 31, 2018 - COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Weekend for Jon Mitchell
1Jon Mitchell returned with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) on Friday night at Timberline Speedway (Maud, Texas) for the $2,000-to-win A-Main. Falling short of a Top-10 finish, Mitchell posted a 14th place outing in the 40-lap affair.

March 23, 2018 - Hard Ride for Jon Mitchell at Old No. 1 Speedway
Making his first start of the season in the Super Late Model ranks, Jon Mitchell headed to Old No. 1 Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas) on Friday evening for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) opener.

Drawing 27 cars for the $2,000 top prize, Mitchell broke a rear end in his heat race forcing him to pull out his secondary car for the feature. Starting in 20th, Jon had worked his way into the Top-10 and was battling for a Top-5 spot until his right-rear slipped over the cushion on lap 23 sending him on his roof. He was able to walk away from the scary incident unharmed.

March 2, 2018 - Jon Mitchell Goes into Battle with USMTS
1 On Friday night Jon Mitchell followed the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) to Kennedale Speedway Park (Kennedale, Texas) for the third round of the Summit USTMS Winter Speedweeks presented by MSD Performance. Holding his spot in his 8-lap heat, Mitchell logged a 5th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top-5 into the opening night feature, Jon landed a runner-up finish behind Chase Allen locking him into the 16th-starting position for the A-Main. Breaking into the Top-10, Jon Mitchell gained eight spots in the 35-lap affair reeling in an 8th place finish.

Mother Nature rained out Saturday and Sunday’s USMTS events at Superbowl Speedway (Greenville, Texas) and Grayson County Speedway (Bells, Texas).

February 24 , 2018 - Jon Mitchell Kicks Off 2018 Campaign
1Jon Mitchell kicked off the 2018 season at South Texas Speedway (Corpus Christi, Texas) on Friday night for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) season opener.

With 26 cars signed in for the 9th annual Summit USMTS Winter Speedweeks presented by MSD Performance, Mitchell secured his spot into the opening night feature with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Johnny Scott. Earning the 2nd-starting position for the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Jon held his spot for all 40-laps to place 2nd behind Johnny Scott with Cade Dillard, Joe Duvall, and Dereck Ramirez completing the Top-5 finishers.
