Mitchell kicks off 2023 season with Comp Cams at Boothill
The 2023 season got underway for Jon Mitchell on Friday evening with a visit Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, La.) competing with the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) for the doubleheader weekend.
Drawing 41 Late Models for the fourth annual Ronny Adams Memorial, Mitchell missed a transfer spot by two cars in his heat with a sixth-place finish, relegating him into a B-Main. Needing to place second or better to make the opener, Jon logged a sixth-place outing.
The following night, Jon laid down the sixth-fastest lap in his time trial group before placing third in his heat. Starting the $10,000-to-win Ronny Adams Memorial finale in 12th, Mitchell clawed forward one spot in the 40-lap affair to register an 11th-place finish.
