Mitchell continues season with USMTS Texas Spring Nationals

Jon Mitchell took on a Texas track for the second time in as many weeks on Friday when he raced with the Summit United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) at Rocket Raceway Park.

Mitchell, a Lone State Star native, was one of 65 Modified drivers at the facility in Petty, Texas, when the 14th annual USMTS Texas Spring Nationals commenced on Friday evening. He finished 11th in his heat race on the 3/8-mile oval and came home 12th in his B-Feature, ending his evening shy of the 40-lap, $5,000-to-win main event.

Sixty-seven USMTS Modifieds were on the property the following night for another $5,000-to-win show. Mitchell’s event drew to a close before the 50-lap finale.
